*Below are just a few helpful questions you may want to ask your vendors prior to booking them.*

Venue

  1. What are your expectations of us for clean up?

  2. Do you have a clean-up service we can purchase?

  3. Do you handle any table/chair set up/breakdown?

  4. When is the deadline to decide if the ceremony is inside or outside if rain is in the forecast?

  5. Can we purchase an extra hours if needed?

  6. Do you offer any A La Carte services?

  7. Is there any information you expect or require us to communicate to our other vendor teams?

  8. Do you allow liquor, or at minimum, specialty cocktails?

  9. Are you on-site during the day if issues arise?

  10. Do your prices include tax?

  11. Do your prices include gratuity?

Caterer

  1. Do you provide to-go containers/do we keep the leftovers?

  2. Can we reduce our guest count after booking with you?

  3. Can you provide proof of catering license?

  4. Do you offer any A La Carte services?

  5. Can you provide proof of insurance?

  6. When does my final guest count have to be in by?

  7. Do you manage garbage clean up?

  8. Can we use you to manage our dinnerware rentals? Or is dinnerware disposable?

  9. As far as dessert, can we hire you to cut, plate, and serve the cake?

  10. How do you manage small children in our guest count? Do they account for 1 person, or 1/2?

  11. Do you bring a menu to display?

  12. Do your prices include tax?

  13. Do you have a backup if you are sick on event day?

    • Ask what the total, out the door cost for blank guests would be. This way you will see added fees+

DJ/Music

  1. Are weddings your main events or do you play at other events or clubs? (Try and go see them if possible)

  2. How much time do you require to setup and take down?- Our venue requires all vendors offsite by midnight

  3. Do you have back up plan if equipment doesn’t work when your reception starts?

  4. Do you have a backup if you are sick on event day?

  5. Do you offer other services such as video screens for a slideshow and lighting?

  6. Have you worked at our venue in the past?

  7. How extensive is your music collection?

  8. Can we provide your own playlist and a “do not” playlist?

  9. Can they accommodate special song requests from guests?

  10. How do they get your guests dancing and excited?

  11. Do you take breaks? If so, what happens during this time?

  12. Do you act as an emcee announcing the wedding party, bouquet toss, first dance and other announcements?
